Without question, 2016 is off to a stellar start. Not only does Materiell have a full roster of challenging web design and development projects to look forward to throughout the year, we were also recently notified about an award for outstanding online achievement in working with a non-profit organization on its website redesign and launch. We are pleased to announce that Materiell has been awarded the Interactive Media Council Outstanding Achievement Award in the Nonprofit category for our redesign of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights website.
A non-profit organization that encompasses leading web-related professionals like designers, developers, and programmers, Interactive Media Council holds an annual competition to identify and honor creative agencies who excel in the field of web design and development. Innovation, impactful design, and website responsiveness are just some of the factors that are evaluated as part of the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) judging process and applied when determining award winners. In addition, the IMAs act as a method by which to challenge web designers and developers to a higher standard of excellence in their field. The judging process is comprehensive and rigorous, ensuring that only the best in design innovation and web development best practices adherence is showcased in its designated award recipients. Materiell is no stranger to winning recognition from Interactive Media Council; last year, we were awarded a Best in Class IMA for our web design and development work on American Press Institute’s website.
Lawyers’ Committee was founded in 1963 by request of President John F. Kennedy to counter racial discrimination and other intersectional inequalities. It is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization. Materiell was asked not only to update and redesign the appearance of the Lawyers’ Committee website but to identify a more effective means of organizing existing content so that which was relevant to a user’s present needs could be located with ease.
Materiell’s responsive redesign of the Lawyers’ Committee website won the IMA Outstanding Achievement Award in the “Nonprofit” category, with a site score of 478 out of a possible 500. 248 websites were submitted for this category, and we are honored to have been recognized with an award of this caliber.
Materiell’s comprehensive website redesign for Lawyers’ Committee was overseen by experts in WordPress web design, leading to a successful website launch for the organization. In recognition of Materiell’s work, the IMA Outstanding Achievement Award serves as validation of our commitment to creative web design and development solutions for the businesses, non-profit, higher education, and government organizations who make up our diverse portfolio of clientele in the Washington, D.C. metro area where we are based, as well as nationwide. We look forward to continuing to push the creative envelope through the whole of 2016, and well into the the future.
